Large Diameter Drilling, part of Acteon Group, is a market leading foundations drilling company. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the fast growing team to hit the ground running and be a key part of the delivery team on an exciting Renewables project.

The successful applicant will have experience at a senior level of running large offshore or renewables projects, have an understanding of foundation drilling technologies and an ability to manage complex client interfaces, deliverables and expectations through the project delivery.

This vacancy provides an opportunity to work on an exciting project from early engineering through to fabrication, mobilisation and offshore execution working with industry experts in engineering, surveying, mechanical and hydraulic design The role will be based in Camborne, Cornwall. Consideration will be given to other locations if applicable. This is a 18 month, fixed term role.


  • Overall project management of the contracts you are assigned, with responsibility for the safe delivery of our obligations under each contract, on time and on budget.
  • Understand the project practical and commercial aims, risks and opportunities by means of thorough handover with the project tender team and a detailed review of each contract.
  • Maximise financial returns, protect commercial interests, exploit opportunities and maintain the reputation of LDD, whilst ensuring that we meet the Clients expectations and that he will be keen to work with us again in the future.
  • Management and execution of LDD site operations under your direct control in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Control of budgets including Project, Capex, Opex. Contribution to the preparation of, and compliance with LDD annual budgets.
  • Manage complex client interfaces, providing accurate and robust progress updates, project schedules and associated deliverables to manage client expectations.
  • Develop positive client relationships and feedback information gained on future opportunities and competitor activity to the LDD senior management team.


  • Educated to degree level with a mechanical, civil or geotechnical focus
  • Minimum 5yrs experience running large projects in the offshore or renewables sector
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a marine construction environment an advantage.
  • Knowledge of reverse circulation drilling preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work under your own initiative and part as a team is essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and MS Project (or similar)
  • Sound contractual/commercial awareness.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with peers and project stakeholders at all levels.
  • An understanding of marine plant and equipment and the factors affecting safe performance in the marine environment.
