InterMoor is looking to add a Projects and Engineering Manager to the team. The Projects & Engineering Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the engineering department and the project management department. This position will ensure both departments are in compliance with the appropriate technical, company and industry standards. They will contribute to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective planning and execution of InterMoor's undertakings, and will provide independent oversight of engineering tasks as the technical authority, a recognized expert within InterMoor. The Projects & Engineering Manager will ensure delivery of client projects, have responsibility for the full project cycle with strict adherence to its success indicators - safety, quality, timely delivery, to budget, planning and cost control. The Projects & Engineering Manager will collaborate and manage all Project Managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all technical requirements of all activities are managed and delivered in accordance with business needs.


The successful candidate will be based in the Houston, TX office but may travel from time to time to our facilities in Morgan City, LA and Fourchon, LA.


Duties

  • Provide effective leadership of the Project Management and Engineering functions in accordance with InterMoor's values, goals, and objectives
  • Ensure compliance with client contractual requirements in liaison with the Commercial Manager, contracts, and Sr. Management
  • Take responsibility for departmental budget targets and limits
  • Liaise closely with the senior management team and ensure they are informed of relevant issues
  • Liaise with peers in other locations ensuring efficient utilization of worldwide PM & engineering resources
  • Oversee and direct all technical work, ensuring service delivery in accordance with client and company expectations in a timely, accurate, safe, and cost-effective manner
  • Be responsible and accountable for planning and delivery of engineering and project management technical activities
  • Optimize the utilization of operational resources to ensure revenues and profitability are maximized
  • Consult and negotiate with clients regarding work specifications where required
  • Forecast manpower requirements, and operational budget for projects and the PME team to deliver to company expectations
  • Increase the company's involvement with existing clients ensuring penetration at appropriate levels
  • Liaise, as directed, with the InterMoor Business Development, Sales, Contracts and Commercial Managers to identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Provide expertise on technical issues to ensure maximum possible conversion from quotes to orders
  • Oversee the development of engineering reports and other technical documents for specific clients and other departments within the group.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners on multidiscipline project management and design/engineering projects
  • Monitor project costs (3rd party and internal) against revenue on a daily basis, and oversee the dissemination of weekly and monthly tracking reports of estimated revenues and costs to Sr. Management
  • Confirm and accept transfer of project material generated during the bid stage to project teams, including contract requirements, technical specifications, and commercial terms needed for proper execution of projects


Required

  • Bachelor of Science, Engineering, Ocean, Naval Architecture, or Civil discipline, preferred
  • 20+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in mooring systems design (mobile and/or permanent units)
  • Broad knowledge and experience of offshore marine operations, primarily related to mooring systems installation
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards on mooring systems design and engineering technical analysis
  • Project management experience including tendering, financial, scheduling & creating deliverables
  • Experience in leading a team and guiding the team members with good commercial awareness
  • Competent in creating and reviewing Orcaflex models on moorings/risers/subsea installation
  • Ability to work internationally and offshore
  • Requires project execution for large and small capital projects from design through project administration
  • Demonstrate relationship management skills in harnessing the potential of teams for successful project execution and delivery
  • Project experience should include complete profit and loss accountability on multiple domestic and global projects
  • Knowledge and ability to review proposals, contracts and work scopes for budget and contractual risk and liability and ways to mitigate these risks
