Claxton are currently looking to add a Senior Finance Executive to their team based in Singapore - Tuas South Avenue on a permanent basis. The Senior Finance Executive is responsible to assist Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounting activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities, maintain records & data entry
- Ensuring all the accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards
- Responsible for processing and control of bank transactions including customer receipts allocations, facilitating bank payments, reconciliations, and reporting
- Processing supplier payments and staff claims after proper verification and controls with checking of all the necessary documents
- Support the finance lead in monthly financial closing process for timely & accurate preparation of Management Accounts
- Prepare month end Schedules, cut-off adjustments and Reconciliations in timely and accurate manner
- Support improvements and efficiencies in AP process of invoices including reconciliation, controls and forecasting
- Responsible for timely and accurate processing of sales invoicing to clients
- Take ownership of credit card payments process including recording, collating invoices and CC reconciliation
- Support the finance lead to develop and implement processes, systems and policies in line with the finance improvement plans
- Support the Finance lead in forecast, budget, and year-end processes
- Work to improve availability/accessibility of financial information within the business
- Preparing year-end audit processes/requirements along with resolving queries to the auditors
- Support finance lead in timely completion of statutory returns and related compliance
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years' accounting experience
- Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Sound experience and knowledge of accounting systems ideally Navision (MS Dynamics NAV).
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy with good organisational skills
- Excellent communication and people skills and the ability to interact at a variety of levels
- An ability to work under pressure, handling tight deadlines and having a flexible approach
- Sound technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and management reporting requirements
- Good analytical thought process and business acumen, able to anticipate issues and offer ideas for solutions
- Singapore Citizen or PRs in Singapore are encouraged to apply
