UTEC are currently looking to hire a HDS Technician on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Livingston, the HDS Technician is to provide professional HDS support to the UTEC Data Centre to a high standard and in a timely manner. To undertake all activities required of an HDS Technician. To meet the strategic needs of the business and, after training, have a good understanding of the onshore remote processing of offshore data services to be able to carry out onshore remote processing when required.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • To provide assistance to the UTEC Data Centre as required.
  • To gather, analyse and map data collected from land, overseas & offshore surveying projects to a high & accurate standard.
  • Carry out onshore remote processing of offshore data from data collected from offshore worksites when required.
  • To ensure that internal project documentation is completed to deadline and portrays a professional image of the Company.
  • To keep records / spreadsheets up to date.
  • To comply with Health & Safety standards set by the Company.
  • To comply with company ISO standards and procedures.
  • On occasion to carry out duties at various locations other than the office.
  • On occasion liaise and support other parts of the business
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
  • Cross training provided for the departments onshore remote services.


Requirements

  • Ideally qualified to degree level in an appropriate/relevant discipline
  • Good 2D and 3D AutoCAD experience
  • Role involves using high tech equipment and computer programs to accurately record survey data therefore good proven maths & technical skills are required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions if required.
  • HDS skills in software such as Cyclone Register 360, Cyclone Core, Recap, Aveva Point Cloud Manager
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work both independently and within teams.
  • Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates.
