TerraSond is looking to add a highly diligent & meticulous Project Controls Manager to the team. You will be responsible for initiating, planning, monitoring, controlling, communicating, and closing out project cost and schedule for projects. You will ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. You will contribute to process improvement initiatives relative to improving cost control and project delivery.

Duties

  • Monitor, issue reports, and estimate project costs - includes updating budgets as costs are incurred; alerting PM to cost overruns; reconciling actual costs to project budget; submitting timely reports to PM and Operations VP
  • Issue and record project invoices and following up on payments - liaising with project manager to ensure invoices are submitted timely; reconciling and monitoring any variances; liaising with client rep on any discrepancies or additional backup required
  • Record and reconcile project activity in accounting system
  • Calculate and estimate project revenue on a monthly and on-going basis
  • Key role in project close out meetings with operations and BD
  • Support CAPEX related activities and reporting requirements for large-scale CAPEX projects
  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures.
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
  • General support across all accounting functions, as necessary


Required

  • 10 years general accounting experience
  • Preferred 3-5 years project control experience
  • Preferred Oil & Gas Industry experience or similar industry
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
  • The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
