Claxton are currently recruiting a Workshop Technician on a full time, permanent basis to join their team in Stavanger, Norway.


The successful candidate will be part of our workshop team, responsible for inspecting, maintaining, refurbishing and testing of equipment for all products and services supplied by Claxton. Furthermore the right candidate will also have the opportunity to travel offshore to be part of our offshore team on project delivery as required.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspection, refurbishment and preparation of Claxton purchase and rental equipment in accordance to Claxton procedures.
  • Inspection, refurbishment and preparation of Clients equipment in accordance to Claxton procedures.
  • Ensure project load outs are completed smoothly, with required/agreed spares, consumables and hand tools, as per operations manual procedures.
  • Daily inspection of forklifts and overhead cranes as assigned
  • Involvement in preparing equipment for testing and SITs prior to mobilising offshore
  • Preparation of new manufactured equipment for use offshore.
  • Checking of equipment on its return from projects and reporting any breakages or damage prior to maintaining.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of all personal protective equipment and tooling
  • Complete certification for pressure testing, drifting and inspection where required
  • General housekeeping of all workshop areas.
  • Provide for out of hours cover on an as needed basis
  • Travel offshore to be part of the offshore project team where and when required
  • Participate in the company's training and competency system


Requirements

  • Certificate of apprenticeship, Fagbrev Industrimekaniker, Anleggsmekaniker, Mekaniker, Mekaniker lette / Tunge kjøretøy Landbruksmekaniker
  • Recognized qualification or equivalent experience in Hydraulics & Hydraulic Systems


Experience preferable from

  • Working knowledge of oilfield equipment and general inspection and maintenance
  • Working with maintenance schedules for pumps, diesel motors, winches. Alternatively experience with drilling and subsea, riser systems and equipment,
  • Practical experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on hydraulic and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Practical experience in preparing equipment for mobilizing for offshore operations
  • Experience in oil industry equipment and procedures
  • Workshop tooling/fitting techniques
  • Bolt torqueing and tension systems
  • High pressure pumping and testing
  • Has previous offshore experience from general well services, subsea or drilling operations
  • Offshore certificate and medicals in place
  • Fork lift truck license (up to 16 Ton)
  • Overhead crane license
  • Rigger, Slinger / banksman training
