Job Description

Pulse, part of Acteon Group, are a market leader in subsea structural monitoring providing highly sophisticated monitoring systems and services to both oil & gas, and renewables clients around the globe since 1998. Due to our ambitious growth plans we are looking to strengthen our team in a number of roles globally.

Pulse is looking to add a hard-working Offshore Service Technician to the team. The Service Technician will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of Pulse's INTEGRI range of instrumentation in line with project schedules and quality standards, as well as equipment maintenance, calibration and testing onshore in the base.

The role is based offshore and will require local and international travel to support Pulse operations. Periods of onshore support may also be required working in the Woking, UK offices/workshops.

Duties

  • Working onsite to install and commission systems, including trips to offshore environments (circa 50-120 days per year, each trip lasting 2 - 6 weeks, teams of 1-2 people depending on complexity). Regions include Brazil, North Sea (Europe), Gulf of Mexico, Australasia.
  • Communicating with internal offshore/operations teams and other 3rd party stakeholders (customers, subcontractors).
  • Assisting the project managers to develop installation and commissioning procedures for offshore installation.
  • Working with angle grinders for onsite installation of strain gauges.
  • Assisting project managers with project delivery (assembly, testing, installation).
  • Maintenance, service, calibration, testing and general duties at the base in Woking when not working offshore.


Required

  • Experience in a service or maintenance role, preferably electronics / electromechanical.
  • Technical qualifications including: Minimum of B-TEC First Certificate in electronics / electrical, apprenticeship or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in using oscilloscopes, PSUs, voltmeters and other similar test equipment.
  • Offshore experience an advantage, though full training and certification will be provided (BOSIET / MIST / Offshore Medical).
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 25kg, and using standard hand tools.
  • Able to work under pressure, particularly at during offshore installations.
  • Practical aptitude: will need to be hands on and mechanically minded.
  • Able to troubleshoot and think on feet during system integration and installation. Likely to be on site on their own at times.
  • Motivated, hard working and focused on end goals.
  • Customer/service focused: able to deal with internal (Pulse regional offices, project managers, engineers) and external customer enquiries and requests.
  • Must be able to work in the Woking office/workshop when not Offshore
  • Must be aware working offshore involves extended periods away from home including weekends and holidays.
