Probe Oil Tools are looking to hire a Purchase Ledger Assistant on a full time, permanent basis. Based in Great Yarmouth, the Purchase Ledger Assistant is to primarily provide administrative support to the Finance department by way of data processing, analysing information to aid all quality and financial requirements. Additionally, to provide administration support throughout the organisation.


  • Ensuring purchase invoices are matched to purchase orders and goods received
  • Purchase invoice data entry into Navision system
  • Reconciling purchase ledger to supplier statements
  • Processing of company credit card transactions
  • Checking and processing expense claims
  • Collating and summarising timesheets
  • Monitoring and administration of accounts mailbox
  • Distribution of post
  • Answering the telephone
  • Undertaking other administration tasks as required


  • Experience in an accounts based administration role
  • Experience of Microsoft Navision would be an advantage
  • IT literate, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly in data handling, interpretation, and display
  • Systematic approach to tasks
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and eagerness to assist wherever possible
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills coupled with good attention to detail
