Job Description

UTEC is looking to add qualified Offshore Party Chiefs to the team in the United States. The Party Chief is UTEC's senior onboard representative and must ensure that all work is conducted in the best interests of UTEC and the Client. The Party Chief must thoroughly understand work specifications, project requirements and client objectives, and is responsible for the safe, efficient and timely execution of, as well as Quality Assurance for the project.


This is an offshore role and will require a significant amount time spent on a vessel and may take place in inclement weather and extreme temperatures. Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, long days, and evening/weekend hours to meet deadlines. Extensive travel is required.


Duties/Responsibilites

  • Supervise survey operations ensuring safe working practices at all times and with due regard to contractual requirements, scope of work, procedures and regulations
  • Manage mobilization and demobilization activities with regard to safety of personnel and assets
  • Ensure all systems are functioning in compliance with contractual requirements, project procedures and company procedures to effectively conduct the scope of work
  • Ensure collection, collation, QC and distribution of all survey data relating to the scope of work as per project procedures and company procedures
  • Advise onshore management, company and client representatives when deviation from the approved procedure is necessary and record through the Management of Change Procedure
  • Compile operational/field reporting in a concise manner and in accordance with project procedures, client specifications and company procedures
  • Complete final reporting and data transfer/backup in accordance with project procedures, client specifications and company procedures
  • Effectively communicate with client representatives and company representatives onshore
  • Ensure all personnel in the offshore team understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Conduct personnel performance reviews/appraisals for your direct reports and provide specific performance data/feedback to supervisors of non-direct reports assigned to your projects


Requirements

  • Education in Geomatics, Surveying Science
  • Relevant industry experience or military/academic experience in survey related discipline, including relevant management experience
  • Satisfactory completion of competence criteria for Senior Surveyor, Senior Survey Engineer, Senior Geophysicist or Senior Data Processor
  • Nominally 48 months experience, including 400 operational days offshore as Senior Surveyor, Senior Survey Engineer, Senior Geophysicist or Senior Data Processor
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
  • Ability to work both independently and within teams
  • Must be a US Citizen
