Claxton are looking to a Decommissioning Operational Lead. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the Decommissioning Lead will be key to Operational improvements, Cross training for Global Offshore Staff in Decommissioning, Implementation of existing / Upgraded and new Technologies regarding procedures and operational excellence, review maintenance plans to De-risk failures and improve operational turnaround times.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working directly for the assigned Project Engineer, provide input into the overall project plan, timings, and execution methodology for the project.
  • Provide input into the operational procedure, either peer contribution, drafting or reviewing.
  • Selection of the appropriate tools/equipment to fulfil operational requirements with the assistance of the Project Manager, Product Leaders, and other technical leads as required.
  • Input into deck plans.
  • Preparation of equipment lists for assigned projects, taking into consideration order of use and accessibility once on the installation. Interface with Warehouse to plan packing for shipment to installation.
  • Preparation of documentation for workshop activities to ensure all equipment and tooling is assembled / prepared to meet the scope of supply and time demands of the project, detailing all consumables / parts required such that Onshore Operations ensure these are available in sufficient time.
  • Oversee preparation of all equipment for the decommissioning phase of the project.
  • Liaison with the Project Manager, Design department and Product Leaders to ensure engineering calculations are carried out to verify the suitability of procedures and equipment proposed to be used.
  • Attend client meetings as required (AWOP, Risk Assessment etc…).
  • Assist in the selection of competent wellsite decommissioning crews.
  • Assist the Project Manager and play a lead role in pre-job briefings prior to mobilisation to the installation.
  • Responsibility for delivery of the products and services to internal & external clients on time, on quality and on cost for allocated projects.
  • Completion of all database / project process / technical reports / minutes of meeting documentation as per Company's IMS procedures
  • Monitoring/manage project performance / timelines and highlight potential problem areas in good time to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure all QA/ HSE and personnel issues that have been considered relevant to each project are fulfilled and completed
  • Interface with QA to ensure all certification is complete.
  • Manage inspection and repair all returned CES equipment from the project returning it to a state of readiness for the next decommissioning project as per asset PMM.
  • Work alongside the Decommissioning Technical Manager in equipment development
  • Work with the offshore operations manager and competency manager on technicians' development and cross training across all sites
  • Work with international sites on technicians' development across all abrasive spreads
  • Development and standardising of Decommissioning offshore and onshore practices across all sites
  • Assist as technical sales lead for offshore Decommissioning operations (equipment/Personnel)
  • Attend required mobilisations for equipment installation/commissioning
  • Undertake survey of the worksite as required, input into survey checklist and provide survey report.
  • At the wellsite, supervise and manage all placement and equipment interface as per the agreed deck plan.
  • Manage all Claxton / Client communications at the installation.
  • Ensure effective planned communication with the Claxton Project Manager / Team including but not limited to telephone discussions, daily reports etc…
  • Supervise and manage all wellsite operations in line with approved procedures.
  • Effectively manage all Risk Assessments / Risk Assessment verification and permits at the wellsite.
  • Record and document accurate records of work at the wellsite paying attention to areas of NPT of changes to the programmed work scope.
  • Ensure all project specific documentation is completed to a quality standard and provided directly and in a timely fashion to the Project Manager at the end of the hitch.
  • After wellsite operations, manage the backload of all equipment to Claxton base ensuring all relevant documentation has been completed.
  • Assist the Project Engineer / Manager with and play a lead role in post-job washup meetings demonstrating highlights and lowlights of the operational aspect (in relation to equipment, crew performance and processes) and recommendations on improvements.



Requirements

  • Minimum HNC / HND OR 5 years equivalent experience in a technical / engineering capacity.
  • Desirable to have technical knowledge of the products and services offered by Claxton.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (IMS) and Equipment Maintenance and certification requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience of managing teams either onshore or offshore.
  • Experience of Maintaining and running an Abrasive cutting systems.
  • Offshore experience with drilling practices and well decommissioning practices.
  • Experience in client liaison and management in both job planning and execution/in the field phases.
  • Experience in participation in DWOP's/ Project Kick off meetings.
  • Preparation of equipment lists.
  • Technical authoring of technical documents and Operational procedures and review and commenting
  • Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Methodical thinker able to break down complex issues and troubleshoot.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with diverse audiences.
  • Always to demonstrate a highly professional conduct.
  • Good interpersonal skills for liaising with both colleagues and clients.
  • The skills to prepare and execute presentations.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Must be willing to travel overseas and spend periods of time offshore.
  • Valid passport.
  • Current Offshore Survival and Medical Certification
