Job Description

UTEC, part of Acteon Group, is one of the world's largest independent offshore and onshore survey providers. We provide a wide range of survey, positioning and data management services using the most advanced equipment and techniques. The data we generate provides our clients with the information they need to make critical, well informed, business decisions.

UTEC is currently seeking to hire a Data Processor on a full-time, permanent basis for their Offshore team in Singapore.

The Data Processor is responsible for the on-board processing, QC and management of all relevant acquired data including but not limited to hydrographic and/or bathymetric data, as well as the production of associated charts.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspect the quality of raw data and inform supervisor if data is not at required standard
  • Review survey logs compiled by data acquisition crews
  • Process acquired data sets using the Company's selected processing software
  • Keep Processing logs up to date and record offsets used during processing
  • Discuss the processing requirements of individual datasets with teams and advisers
  • Management of time to prioritize processing tasks in order to meet project requirements and deadlines
  • Follow pre-defined processing sequence from procedures or on instruction from supervisor
  • QC dataset at each stage of the processing sequence to ensure data integrity
  • Discuss requirements and final deliverables with supervisor on a regular basis to ensure processing sequence is fit for purpose
  • Adhere to Company standards in order to maintain quality management systems
  • Create / Amend Charts as per project requirements

Requirements

  • Education in Geomatics/Survey degree are desired
  • Relevant industry experience more than 2 years is essential in an offshore survey Data Processing role
  • Technical understanding and knowledge of major survey equipment and software used in the offshore survey sector
  • Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced with NaviSuite and VisualSoft Software
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, having received both initial jabs and booster shots
