TerraSond is looking to add a commercially savvy & ambitious Contracts Manager to the team. The successful candidate will oversee all phases of contract activity, i.e. pre and post contract (pre-qualification, tendering and contract / project delivery including sub-contractors).

Pre Contract Award:

  • Interface with colleagues in Business Development activities to coordinate and deliver all pre-qualification, commercial risk mitigation, request for information and tendering requirements from the Business Development to support all TerraSond offices.
  • Implementation of standard cost estimating and collection methods, processes and procedures that result in consistent tendering and 360-degree feedback from won contracts / projects.
  • Review of all cost estimates from the tender together with Business Development in sales meetings.
  • Ensure Commercial capitalizes from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently while maximizing margins.
  • Assist in identifying future key contracts / projects and any specific contracting requirements and comment on contracts.
  • Agree and monitor performance objectives with direct reports and identify areas for performance improvement and any adjustments to organization, tools, processes and people as necessary.
  • Support the development of the Commercial team through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback and continual development.
  • Own and keep current the Contracting Principles process documentation and Risk Review process for senior management approval.
  • Be the interface of Commercial for all relevant external legal support.
  • Review draft forms of contract provided with ITT's and RFQ's, and prepare matrices of clarifications, qualifications and exceptions to draft contracts.
  • Draft responses to client's comments on contract qualifications.
  • Draft / submit RFPs to subcontractors.
  • Assistance to regional commercial and sales personnel in formatting, layout and presentation of proposal documents in accordance with Form of Tender instructions.
  • Assistance to regional commercial and sales personnel (Bid Coordinator, Business Development Manager, etc.) in the timely preparation and submission of proposals in response to ITT'S and RFQ's.
  • Participation with BD team in the negotiation process with TerraSond's clients over terms in Contracts, Master Service Agreements (MSA's) and Frame Agreements (FA's).
  • Management and librarianship of all contracts and associated documents, including contract records and archives.
  • Liaison with Insurance provider or parent company's Insurance Specialist on required coverages, including mitigating sub-contractor gaps.
  • Customer and sub-contractor vetting, security, and security of milestone payments.
  • General assistance to the Senior Management Team in preparation of information and review of external documentation relating to Contract Risk.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to Senior Management.
  • Drafting and submission of requests for parent company's approval (Acteon referrals).
  • Must adhere strictly to the company's policies on good governance including anti-bribery and Foreign Corrupt Practices and must renew signed acceptance of such policies annually on request.

Post Contract Award:

  • Interface with colleagues in Projects and Operations across all Business Units to negotiate subcontracts, manage contracts and subcontracts, coordinate and deliver all post award cost reporting, project / contract performance and commercial support requirements from the centralized Commercial team.
  • Manage change orders, ensure acceptance certificates are timely provided by the client, address with client disputed invoices. Monitor and complete contract close-out, extension or renewal, as appropriate.
  • Monitor tender performance against targets.
  • Development of commercial claims from Clients and sub-contractors as they arise through the execution of projects and contracts, liaison with Quality Manager to resolve commercial claims.
  • Review of all cost reports from project / contract execution processes together with Business Development in sales meetings.
  • Participate in project team meetings.
  • Be the interface of Ops for all relevant external legal support.
  • Assistance to Senior Management team and Operation's Project Managers in resolution of Client's and subcontractors' disputes.


  • MBA with 15 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Candidates with the ability to read, write & speak Spanish as well as English preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Understand the complete business cycle RFQ's, bidding, project management, executions of services, any claims
  • Full understanding of all T&C's of client and subcontractor agreements
  • Kidnap and ransom policy experience
